Man tries to reverse into SA policeman

Two men are on the run after stealing a ute and reversing into a police car while trying to hit an officer in Adelaide.

The pair stole the ute from an Albert Park business they broke into on Monday night and police gave chase briefly until calling off the pursuit.

The thieves were later spotted getting out of the ute at the Peterhead train station and while an officer tried to arrest one man, the other man returned to the car and reversed it, trying to hit the police man.

The officer leapt out of the way and instead the ute hit a police car before the men drove off and the car was found abandoned nearby.
