A man has admitted he lit a fire at a church and smashed a window at a sports club during a drunken New Year's Eve rampage in Adelaide, despite having no memory of what he did.

In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Matthew Skipper pleaded guilty to several charges over the incident and he was given a 12-month good behaviour bond and a fine.

The 31-year-old fisherman had drunk about half a carton of beer and injected methamphetamine before his "out of character" episode, which included lighting a fire in a wheelie bin at a church.
