Man captured on CCTV on day of Adelaide CBD fire being questioned by police

A man captured on CCTV riding a bike in Adelaide’s CBD on the day a three-storey building was gutted by fire is being questioned by police.

Earlier this week police released the CCTV footage of the man riding along Hindley Street and asked for the public’s help in identifying him.

The fire, which police believe was an act of arson, caused more than $2 million in damage and brought the city to a standstill.

More than 80 firefighters spent two hours bringing the blaze under control, and hundreds of CBD staff and shoppers were evacuated from the area.
