Five arrested after SA crash, pursuits

Three men and two women are in custody after a serious crash and two separate police chases in Adelaide.

Police pursued a stolen black Mercedes at Thebarton through a number of backstreets after reports it may have been involved in a serious crash on the Southern Expressway earlier on Monday.

As a result of the crash one person was taken to Flinders Medical Centre with serious injuries and two others are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Mercedes was abandoned at Dry Creek where two women and a man were arrested but two others allegedly stole a Nissan SUV.

The SUV was spotted a short time later and pursued in Salisbury North before the driver crashed into a ditch and both men were arrested

Police are investigating any links between the stolen black Mercedes and the crash on the Southern Expressway.
