SA bushfire brought under control

A bushfire that burnt through more than 90 hectares of scrub south of Adelaide has been contained.

The blaze was sparked on Tuesday near Yundi, on the Fleurieu Peninsula, and took Country Fire Service ground crews and water bombers until Thursday afternoon to bring under control.

Back-burning operations allowed crews to surround the fire with containment lines.

The CFS said smoke was still present in the area and falling trees could also pose a risk for local residents.

The blaze is thought to have started when an old private property burn-off rekindled.

Also on Thursday, the CFS quickly contained bushfires at Quorn, in the southern Flinders Ranges, and at Buckland Park, northwest of Adelaide.

With cooler temperatures forecast across SA on Friday, the CFS downgraded the fire risk in all regions with only Northwest Pastoral and Northeast Pastoral listed as severe.
