Electric blanket sparks SA house fire

A fire sparked by a misused electric blanket has caused $300,000 worth of damage to an Adelaide house.

Metropolitan Fire Service crews were called to the unoccupied house at Panorama in the city's east shortly after 5pm.

An MFS spokesman said the electric blanket was laid across furniture to test whether it was working and left unattended when the occupants left for work.
