Adelaide shivers through chilly morning

Adelaide has woken to a chilly Queen's Birthday holiday, with temperatures dropping to their lowest point this year.

The mercury fell to 3.6C just after 7.30am in the city, while parts of the Riverland were below freezing.

Yunta in South Australia's far north recorded the lowest temperature, with the mercury plummeting to -4.2C just after 7am.
