A house fire in the Adelaide suburb of Croydon has led to the discovery of a hydroponic cannabis crop.
The blaze on Scotia Street was sparked by an electrical fault around midnight, with neighbours initially concerned someone was inside.
"We thought it was fireworks, gunshots, fireworks, it was like constant banging little pops," said local resident Jemima Richter.

When emergency services arrived they made a sinister discovery and police were called in. The focus then shifted from extinguishing the blaze to investigating the drug crop.
Whether a failure of the equipment caused the fire is now under investigation.
Neighbours expressed shock at the discovery, telling 9News there are many families with young children living in the street.
