Adelaide council wants new helipad

The Adelaide City Council wants to build a helipad in the centre of the city to service business and tourism.

But the council has no cash to pay for the development and is looking for expressions of interest from the private sector.

"Tourism is a major driver of the city economy and I've got no doubt that the installation of a helipad would help boost our tourist numbers," Councillor Houssam Abiad said.
