South Australian police charge three men over alleged abduction

Three men have been arrested and charged following an alleged abduction and ransom demand in Adelaide's northwest.

Police say that just after 2am on Friday the men threatened another man with a knife and hammer before forcing him into his car at Ferryden Park.

The victim was then driven to a family member's home at Nailsworth where the suspects allegedly demanded a ransom.

The suspects left the address by car and police were able to intercept it at Cavan where all three men were arrested.

The victim was not physically injured.

Police believe the suspects were known to the victim.

A 31-year-old Albert Park man, a 26-year-old Findon man and a 29-year-old Seaton man were charged with detaining a person for ransom, aggravated assault, aggravated serious criminal trespass and threats to kill.

All three men were refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
