SA man accused of murdering his parents

A 37-year-old South Australian man accused of murdering his parents has been remanded in custody after a brief court appearance.

Michael Glen Phillips is charged with murdering his father, 73, and his mother, 66, at Encounter Bay, south of Adelaide, on Sunday.

He appeared in Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday, when the case was adjourned to Adelaide Magistrates Court on June 17.

Earlier on Monday, police said they had found a knife at the scene and believed it was the murder weapon.

Police went to the house on Sunday afternoon after receiving reports two men were fighting in the front yard of the two-storey home on Matthew Flinders Drive.

They found the father's body, while the mother's body was later found at a nearby reserve.
