SA carer killed in driveway identified

A welfare worked killed in the driveway of an elderly client's home when her car rolled over her has been identified as a long-time carer who moved to Australia from Scotland 25 years ago.

Welfare group Anglicare said Maureen Elliot-Barry was loved by her husband, daughters and grandchildren.

"Maureen worked for Anglicare for more than seven years and she has worked in aged care for more than 15 years," the organisation said in a statement on Tuesday.

"She was very loved and respected by everyone she knew and she will be sadly missed."

The 52-year-old was killed on Monday when her Holden Commodore rolled backwards and ran her over in the driveway of a home at Fairview Park, in Adelaide's northeastern suburbs.

It was thought Mrs Elliot-Barry had been unloading groceries from the boot of the car when it rolled back and knocked her down.
