Roberta Williams granted bail after being charged with kidnapping and threats to kill a man

Gangland widow Roberta Williams has been given bail after being charged with alleged kidnapping and making threats following an incident in Collingwood last month.

The 50-year-old widow of murdered crime boss Carl Williams was led from her Strathmore home in handcuffs this morning to a waiting unmarked police car following raids on a number of Melbourne properties.

She was granted bail by a magistrate this afternoon on the proviso she report to police daily and provide a $10,000 surety to not leave Victoria until she reappears in court on October 8.

Police have charged Williams - along with a 24-year-old Greensborough man and a 24-year-old Craigieburn man - with kidnapping, false imprisonment, making threats to kill, intentionally causing serious injury, recklessly causing injury and theft.

Last month, a 36-year-old Princess Hill man was charged with the same offences in relation to the alleged incident.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on 8 October.

The five arrests follow a report to police about an alleged serious assault in Collingwood on Tuesday 9 July.

A Current Affair tonight reported TV producer Ryan Nemenko, who was associated with a reality series featuring Roberta and her daughter Dhakota, was allegedly kidnapped and told at gun point to pay $20,000.

Nemenko, himself a convicted con-man and money launderer, contacted Roberta on social media and the pair agreed to create the reality show.

A Current Affair obtained exclusive messages between the pair, showing their relationship started off rosy.

"You still look f------ hot, even with a swollen face. There's definitely a watchability about it … HUGE potential for this. Massive!" read one message from Nemenko to Roberta.

Nemenko also claimed he was in talks with the Nine Network to air the program, which he was not.

But things soured when Nemenko apparently kept overpromising and underdelivering.

"If I don't see any progress this week, I'm pulling out," Roberta said.

"You are not pulling out mate … it's my f------ money. How ungrateful, Roberta, disgusting behaviour," Nemenko replied.

Approached by A Current Affair, Nemenko said he "took nothing" from Roberta, but otherwise refused to comment.

Ms Williams and her teenage daughter made a public plea for cash to fund their show dubbed "a mixture of Mob-Wives meets Keeping Up With The Kardashians".

Only $865 of the $50,000 target has been raised.

Carl Williams was bashed to death in Barwon Prison in 2010 while serving time for killing fellow underworld figures Jason and Lewis Moran and Michael Marshall.
