Man allegedly spits on cop during arrest in Melbourne's east

A man allegedly spat on a police officer during an arrest in Melbourne's east yesterday.
Police were called to a carpark on Bond Street in Ringwood after receiving reports a man had been seen running through traffic and allegedly assaulting passersby about 8pm.
Officers arrived at the scene before the man allegedly spat at one of the officers.

Police quickly arrested the man.
A 26-year-old Ringwood man was charged with assault.
He was bailed to appear before Ringwood Magistrates Court on May 12.
