Richard Wilkins faces off with Wippa in heated rap battle

Nine Network Entertainment Editor Richard "Dickie" Wilkins has felt the burn during a heated rap battle with Nova FM host Wippa.

The showbiz veteran kicked things off with a defence of his hair - "my hair is real, my tan is too. My favourite job would be to drum for you two."

He had a laugh at himself, referencing a brief stint on Hey Hey and a cameo on the 2012 lamb ad.

"I don’t wear speedos but I don’t mind a party and I don’t mind putting some lamb on the barbie."

FM jock Wippa returned fire, warning that "whatever I say next, I’m not sorry".

"Ladies think he’s one of a kind. Big hands, big hair - the ultimate find."

The radio host accused Richard of keeping a little black book "chockers" full with "out-of-control mothers".

The offensive continued with a dig at the time Richard fell for an online hoax about the death of Jeff Goldblum.

"We all work hard just to be fed, but when you’re live on TV it has to be said, don’t mention that Jeff Goldblum is dead."

Rap battle judge Sarah McGilvray shut down Wippa’s rap, calling it "rude".

"There’s funny and there’s rude and you were really quite rude to Richard in that," she said.

"And he was just funnier. Dickie’s the winner!"
