Richard Pusey charged after allegedly posting Eastern Freeway tragedy image online

Richard Pusey has been charged and remanded after he allegedly posted a photo online of one of the dead police officers at the scene of the Eastern Freeway tragedy in Melbourne.

He has fronted court less than a week after a State Memorial Service was held to honour the four police officers killed in the tragic incident in April 2020.

Pusey, who was sentenced to 10 months' imprisonment in April last year after pleading guilty to the rare charge of outraging public decency for filming the aftermath of the crash, was arrested at a Kurunjang property about 8.05pm yesterday by police acting on a warrant.

The former mortgage broker was taken into custody and charged with two counts of use telecommunications device to menace and two counts of commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

The charges follow an investigation into two separate incidents which occurred on November 25, 2021 and February 7, 2022, according to Victoria Police.

He has been remanded to appear at Sunshine Magistrates' Court on February 22.

Pusey is alleged to have posted a Google review on February 7 to a website belonging to the Porsche Centre Melbourne dealership in Collingwood, which included a photo of an officer killed in the Eastern Freeway tragedy.
