Tobacconist partly destroyed after ram raid in Melbourne

A tobacconist has been partly destroyed after an attempted burglary and ram-raid in Melbourne's north-east this morning.
Police believe a car reversed into the security doors of Smoke House Tobacconist on Plenty Road in Reservoir about 3.50am.
The offenders failed to gain entry and fled the scene empty handed, police said.

It comes one week after police revealed that almost 30 tobacconists have been targeted as disputes involving Middle Eastern crime groups escalate.
Police are on scene and continue to investigate.
