A construction worker has been winched to safety after he fell seven metres into a pit at a work site in Melbourne's north this afternoon.
Specialist fire crews were brought in to rescue the man at the Epping construction site just before 3pm.

It is believed he injured his knee in the fall and was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
