Founding AC/DC member ill: reports

As speculation continues to grow about the future of legendary Australian rockers AC/DC, rumours have emerged that one of the band's members may be seriously ill.

The band's rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young has suffered a debilitating stroke and can no longer play, according to The Orstrahyun.

"More than a month ago, founding member, rhythm guitarist, co-producer and co-songwriter Malcolm Young had a stroke, which left a blood clot on his brain," the report reads.

The band's management has not responded to the claims.

Yesterday the self-described "best informed showbusiness commentator in Australia" Peter Ford tweeted that "there was some sad detail" behind the recent speculation about the band's future.

"I will not be reporting on, but the band/management may choose to reveal this," Mr Ford wrote yesterday.

AC/DC was formed in Sydney in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, who have remained in the band since.

The group has sold over 200 million albums and remain one of the biggest bands in the world, regularly playing to sold out stadiums around the world.
