Residents told to report rubbish within their suburbs

Reporting rubbish in your community could earn you up to $2000 this month.

Snap Send Solve, a free app that allows Australians to report issues in their communities to local councils, is giving people the chance to win $500 through its Snaptember initiative.

Each week there will be a designated community focus and Australian residents (except those in South Australia) are asked to report these issues via the app.

Week one (from September 1 to 8) will focus on dumped rubbish and week two (September 9 to 15) will target graffiti.

Week three will encourage people to identify overgrown vegetation, while week four will ask participants to look out for abandoned shopping trolleys.

Each time a person reports a relevant issue for the relevant competition week, they will receive one entry into the draw.

The initiative is open to people who are aged 18 and over and who have an account with Snap Send and Solve.

There is no cost or fee to enter into the draw.
