Companies that fail to prevent foreign bribery could soon be docked tens of millions of dollars under laws being reintroduced to federal parliament.

In a week dominated by debate about foreign interference in Australian politics, the Morrison government is having another go at cracking down on corporations and employees that improperly influence foreign officials.

Under the laws, companies would be held directly liable for employees, contractors, agents and subsidiaries engaging in bribery, unless they could prove they had measures in place to minimise the risk.
