Redirect climate change funding: Broad
AAP
A Nationals MP believes funding earmarked for climate change should be redirected to seasonal forecasting to help farmers make better decisions.
Andrew Broad is upset the Bureau of Meteorology predicted a 75 per cent chance of higher-than-average autumn rainfall when his electorate of Mallee in western Victoria had one of the driest on record.
"It would be wiser if we took some funding from the BOM which was hypothecated for climate change and moved that across to seasonal forecasting," he told reporters in Canberra on Monday.
