A government deal with the Australian Red Cross will help the aid agency deploy disaster relief supplies to the Asia-Pacific region ahead of the next cyclone season.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop announced a four-year partnership deal worth $38.5 million with the aid agency on Tuesday.

The money will also be used for disaster management projects and improving health, safe water and sanitation access.
