Rebel Wilson to join Guys and Dolls cast in London stage debut
Australian actress and comedian Rebel Wilson will make her debut on the London stage, joining the cast of the West End production of Guys and Dolls.
The ‘Pitch Perfect’ and ‘Bridesmaids’ Hollywood star will take to the stage as nightclub singer Miss Adelaide in the multi-award winning American musical.
Wilson’s role is only for a limited time, starting from June 28 and ending an eight-week run on August 21.
The Hollywood starlet expressed her excitement over the announcement tweeting; “So excited to be making my West End debut in this classic musical x.”
Wilson, 36, trained at the Australian Theatre for Young People, where she appeared in a number of musicals and plays.
She also wrote and performed in her own productions before beginning her film career.
Set in Prohibition-era New York, Guys and Dolls depicts the city's gamblers, hustlers and nightclub singers. Some of its most famous musical numbers include My Time of Day, Luck Be A Lady and Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat.
Further casting for the show at London’s Phoenix Theatre would be announced soon.
