Reality TV star Lachlan Rofe fronts court on assault charges

Reality television star Lachlan Rofe has been ordered not to approach his girlfriend within 12 hours of drinking or taking drugs after an alleged incident between the pair.

Rofe, 38, who went by the name Lachlan McAleer on the first season of Married At First Sight and the most-recent season of Farmer Wants A Wife, faced one charge of common assault against girlfriend Kasey Williams when he fronted Penrith Local Court today.

It is alleged Rofe assaulted Ms Williams in Cawdor, on the outskirts of Sydney's greater southwest, about 10pm on Wednesday last week.

Police have taken out an apprehended violence order against Rofe on behalf of Ms Williams.

Rofe agreed not to approach Ms Williams within 12 hours of drinking alcohol or taking illicit drugs.

Rofe refused to comment on the case outside court.

He split from girlfriend Belinda Reid, who he met whilst a contestant on Farmer Wants A Wife, before the finale of the show went to air.

He will return to court to face the assault charge at a later date.
