Rape charges dropped against former AFL star Stephen Milne

Rape charges against former AFL player Stephen Milne have been discontinued after he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of indecent assault.

The plea means three charges on the more serious count of rape have been dropped.

The charges relate to an incident over a decade ago involving a 19-year-old victim at the home of then St Kilda teammate Leigh Montagna.

The 34-year-old was supported by former teammates Lenny Hayes and Nick Riewoldt in court this morning.
