Australia will buy two more of the airborne refuelling aircraft which have proved useful in supporting operations over Iraq.

Defence Minister Kevin Andrews says that will make a fleet of seven of the Airbus KC-30A multi-role tanker transport aircraft, with the two extra aircraft to arrive in 2018.

The two additional aircraft, based on the widely used Airbus A330, will cost around $400 million.
