A Caboolture couple have had the shock of their lives all over again, with their second daughter born in the same fashion as their first – on the way to hospital in the family ute.

Sean Dalton and his wife Rebecca said they felt more relaxed and prepared for the birth of Stella last week, but she arrived even faster than her three-year-old sister Keeva.

Keeva was born on the way to hospital in the front seat of herdad's Triton.

"Pulled into the hospital, I was going about 80, just hit a speed bump and I think that's what made her come out," Mr Dalton recalled.

Not to be outdone, Stella arrived in a similar fashion – born on the backseat less than five minutes from hospital.

"Who would've thought lightning would strike twice, it's just unbelievable," Mr Dalton said.

The couple said the speedy but successful deliveries came down to "team work".

"We make a good team so whatever it is, Sean drives well and I deliver well I guess," Ms Dalton said.
