Queensland teacher charged after allegedly assaulting multiple teenage boys

A Queensland teacher and youth leader has been charged after he allegedly sexually assaulted a number of teenage boys between 2014 and 2019.

Police allege the 35-year-old committed the crimes while he was working as a secondary school teacher, youth group leader and sports facilitator across the five-year period.

He allegedly assaulted his victims when he was travelling with them on youth group trips overseas.

Some of the alleged offences are also said to have occurred in Brisbane.

Police arrested the man on Friday.

He has been charged with eleven offences, including three counts each of sexual activity (person outside of Australia when in a position of trust or authority) and sexual assault and five counts of indecent treatment.

He appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody, to return to court later this month.

Police are continuing to investigate the allegations are calling for anyone with information which may assist investigations to contact them.
