Man arrested after fatal Queensland stabbing
A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Queensland yesterday morning.
John Zarnke was taken into custody overnight following a statewide manhunt that resulted in a school south of Brisbane being placed in lockdown.
Police received a tip-off from Mr Zarnke's ex-partner around midday (AEST) yesterday as dozens of officers swooped on the school.
It was cordoned off by officers, who used police dogs to search the area to no avail.
Mr Zarnke's children were located on school grounds and whisked away by police on a golf cart.
Parents of the school's students waited anxiously outside the school grounds for news, with gates locked for more than an hour.
Mr Zarnke was later arrested over the fatal stabbing of a 27-year-old man yesterday morning on Golden Street in Woodbridge.
No charges have yet been laid.
