Queensland school holiday program ‘SHAFT’ raises eyebrows

A south-east Queensland council has started advertising its school holiday program – SHAFT – but some internet users have expressed concern about the acronym title.
A poster for the program depicts a girl holding a bow and arrow, with ‘SHAFT’ and ‘COMING SOON’ written below the image.
The acronym stands for ‘School Holiday Activities for Teenagers’, the Moreton Bay Regional Council poster explains.
A Council Facebook post about the program received mostly positive feedback from parents, although one user expressed her amusement by writing “LOL”.
The reaction was very different on Reddit, an online forum and content-sharing website, where user dannyr posted “Surely Moreton Bay Council could rethink the name of this program”.
Other users agreed, with some questioning the approval process for the program title.
“Somewhere in the council building is an intern giggling incessantly because his joke name idea went through,” GraveRaven wrote.
“Maybe they should have a long and hard think about it...” AlgyLacey suggested.
