A 64-year-old rail worker has died after being hit by a train. (9NEWS)
A Queensland Rail track work crewman has died after being hit by a passenger train as he worked a late-night maintenance shift in Brisbane.
The 64-year-old man was working on tracks at Petrie Station when he was hit about 10.30pm.

He was rushed to hospital with critical injuries but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Queensland Rail (QR) chief executive officer Nick Easy this morning expressed his sympathies to the man's family and friends.
He said QR was working with investigators, including the Rail Regulator, to examine the cause of the incident at Petrie.
Workplace Health and Safety is also investigating the death.
