Gold Coast paramedic robbed of drugs at knifepoint

Police are hunting two men who tricked a paramedic into pulling over before stealing drugs from an ambulance on the Gold Coast overnight.

The paramedic was returning to an ambulance station when he was waved down by a man on Mudgeeraba Road at Worongary around 11:57pm.

When he pulled over and started taking equipment from the ambulance a second man appeared. He held a knife to the paramedic's throat and demanded drugs.

The men then fled the scene with medications from the ambulance.

It's understood a police dog squad was dispatched to search for the men but they could not be found.
