Man arrested after hour-long police chase on Sunshine Coast

A man is in custody after a police chase spanning several Sunshine Coast suburbs ended in a dramatic arrest.

The chase started in Caloundra, snaking through Kawana and Bokarina, before the driver was arrested in Currimundi this afternoon.

At times, the stolen Nissan was pursued by up to 15 police vehicles.

The hour-long pursuit came to an end when the driver crossed a medium strip into oncoming traffic, with shredded tyres.

A dozen police officers were filmed by witnesses dragging the wanted man to the ground.

Police say the driver is a suspect for a number of matters.
