CCTV shows alleged fraudster collecting laptop

Police have released CCTV of a man they allege fraudulently received a laptop through a classifieds website earlier this year.

The man used a fake bank transfer confirmation to convince a seller to send him a laptop.

When the seller realised the transfer did not occur, they attempted to have the laptop returned, but the man pretended to be the seller and collected the laptop from a post office in Ann Street in the Brisbane CBD about 4pm on January 8.

Investigators allege the same man fraudulently used the identity of another man to open a number of mobile phone accounts.

Anyone who recognises the man is urged to contact police.
