Queensland politician Billy Gordon has made his first public appearance since being targeted with allegations of domestic abuse.

Mr Gordon was elected in January but has been rarely seen since claims of abuse and failure to pay child support were raised against him.

The member for Cook denied the allegations and vowed to serve a full term as an independent after resigning from the Labor party.

Last week Kristy Peckham, Mr Gordon's partner and mother of their two children, spoke to A Current Affair and said she was subjected to physical and mental abuse for 15 years.

"There were so many beatings during that period it was like a blur," she said.

Mr Gordon was given the opportunity to tell his side of the story but repeatedly refused to speak on camera.
