Woman, 63, charged with manslaughter over baby's death in Brisbane

A woman has been charged with manslaughter over the death of a baby boy in Brisbane last year.

Emergency services were called to a home on Ashridge Road in Darra on April 3, 2024, to reports an 11-month-old infant was unconscious and not breathing.

The baby was later declared dead at the scene.

A police investigation, Operation Whiskey Nocturne, has been under way since.

Detectives today charged a 63-year-old Darra woman with manslaughter.

She is due to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court on June 4.
