Queensland quarantine breach investigated after guest visited servo
An investigation is underway after a returned traveller in Queensland allegedly breached hotel quarantine to get food from a servo.
Queensland Health confirmed the alleged incident happened on January 3, when a man staying at the Voco Hotel in Surfers Paradise was taken to hospital for a checkup.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance but when returning to the hotel, he was permitted to travel by taxi under Queensland Health's guidelines at the time.
It is alleged the taxi stopped at a 7/11 service station on the way back to the hotel so the man could get something to eat.

The man has since been released from hotel quarantine and tested negative for coronavirus on three separate occasions.
People returning from offsite medical appointments in Queensland are now required to travel by ambulance, but the incident has raised questions about Queensland's hotel quarantine system.
