Child taken to hospital after being hit by car on Queensland's Gold Coast

A 13-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Queensland.

The incident happened in Burleigh, on the Gold Coast, early this morning.

Police said the car had stopped to let the boy across the road but was then hit by another car, propelling it forward and hitting the child.

Paramedics said the boy was taken in a stable condition to the Gold Coast University Hospital just after 7.30am.

It is understood the child suffered only minor abrasions.
