Man falls five storeys to his death at Brisbane hostel 'trying to retrieve phone'
A man who fell from a balcony on the fifth level of a Brisbane backpackers hostel was trying to retrieve his phone, it's understood.
Police are investigating the death of the man at the hostel in the CBD last night.
Emergency services were called to Nomads Backpacker Hostel on Edward Street just after 9pm (AEST) following reports a man had fallen to the ground from five floors up.

The man, who was Australian, died at the scene.
Police are investigating but a spokesperson confirmed to 9News.com.au that the death isn't being treated as suspicious.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
