Woolworths reveals new 'eco-friendly' store in Brisbane
Woolworths has opened the doors of a brand new "eco-friendly" store in Brisbane.
The West End store is being tipped as a new experience for customers, allowing them to see a cleaner and greener way to shop – while keeping the same Woollies experience.
"(The store) allows us to invest back into our business and to keep our prices lower as well," Woolworths Operations Manager Brett O'Dea told 9News.

From the new LED lights brightening the store to the trolleys made of milk bottles, every effort has been put in by the Fresh Food People to create a more significant green impact on their retail footprint.
Even banana bread will be cooked from food wastage at the store.
And it's already paying off for the store. It is able to operate with 15 per cent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than any other Queensland location.

"They use a lot of energy, water and can contribute to a lot of waste. What we're now seeing is a seismic shift towards reducing that environmental footprint," Retail expert Professor Gary Mortimer told 9News.
And it's not just Woolworths looking to reduce it's carbon footprint.
Coles and Aldi are also adopting countless clean and green models.
"Ultimately, consumers have very strong values when it comes to the environment," Professor Mortimer added.
