Woman tried to take Qld cop's gun: police

A woman allegedly tried to grab a police officer's gun before the car she and her partner were in hit a tree and a police vehicle on the Gold Coast.

Police say the drama began when officers pulled over a car at Paradise Point and realised the 43-year-old man inside was wanted for questioning.

The couple then became violent, with the woman grabbing at an officer's police radio and attempting to take a gun from another.

They allegedly drove off before hitting a tree and reversing into the side of the police vehicle.

The pair managed to keep driving and later jumped out of the car before running into a stranger's house, where officers found them hiding.

Both were arrested but are yet to be charged over the alleged offences, which occurred early on Friday morning.
