UPDATE: Police to interview man after fatal fall at Gold Coast unit

Police will speak to a Gold Coast man this afternoon after a woman fell to her death from his balcony early this morning.

The woman plunged from the unit on the 14th floor of a block on Wahroonga Place, Surfers Paradise, at around 2.20am.

Police said there was a disturbance at the unit before the fall. The man who lives in the unit wasn't there when police arrived.

The victim is yet to be identified but it's believed she was in her mid-twenties.

Detectives are treating the death as suspicious.

The woman's body remains at the scene while scientific officers continue to carry out investigations.
