Woman, 54, stabbed in chest in Qld

A crime scene has been set up in two streets in the wake of a southeast Queensland party after a woman was found stabbed and a man with multiple cuts.

Police called to a Redbank Plains home early on Saturday found the 54-year-old woman with a blade wound to the chest and a cut to her head.

They also discovered the 60-year-old man with multiple cuts and a head injury.

Both were taken to hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the woman was in a stable condition but no information was available about the man's state.

Officers were called to the Burrawang Street address about 1.55am.

A crime scene was declared for parts of the street and adjoining Waxberry Court.

A police spokeswoman said it appeared there had been some kind of party at the home but officers were still working to unravel events.
