WA bushfire threat downgraded

A bushfire is no longer threatening lives and homes in the City of Swan, about 20km north-east of Perth.

The fire threat for people in the north western part of Gidgegannup was downgraded on Saturday, after residents were told a day earlier to leave or get ready to defend their properties.

Although the blaze is stationary and poses no immediate threat, there is still a lot of smoke in the area.
