Runaway Qld prisoners caught near border

Two fugitives who escaped from a low security prison on the Queensland-NSW border have been caught.

Christopher Horton and Lionel Goltz escaped from the Palen Creek Correction Centre overnight.

But Queensland Corrective Services say two men were found nearby at around 7am on Tuesday.

Horton is serving seven months for assaulting a police officer, while Goltz has a year-long sentence for stealing.
