Two men charged with torture in Whitsundays

Two men will face a Queensland court accused of torturing a 36-year-old man after breaking into a Whitsundays home and tying him up.

The suspects, in their 20s, allegedly forced their way into a unit at Cannonvale, near Airlie Beach, on Tuesday afternoon and attacked the 36-year-old resident.

Two police officers in the area on an unrelated matter heard what was going on, went to the unit and arrested the pair.

The victim was taken to hospital with cuts to his head, feet and hands.

Two men aged 25 and 27 will appear in Proserpine Magistrates Court on Wednesday on charges including deprivation of liberty, torture and assault.
