Two charged over violent Brisbane robbery

A Brisbane man and a teenager have been charged over a vicious robbery that left a couple in hospital.

Police say the pair were driving in Fortitude Valley just before midnight last night when they spotted the couple walking along a street.

It's alleged they bashed the man, then attacked the woman and stole the contents of her handbag.

Two males, aged 43 and 17, were arrested shortly after in the CBD.

They've been charged with assault and robbery and will face Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

The older man has also been charged with drink driving.

The couple was taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries.
