Two charged after Gold Coast brawl

Two men have been charged after allegedly bashing another man they were travelling home with in a car on the Gold Coast.

The assault is believed to have occurred after the trio stopped at a car park in the suburb of Palm Beach at about 6.30am on Sunday.

Police say the pair, aged 27 and 24, kicked and punched the third man, 28, leaving him with non-life threatening injuries which required hospital treatment.

After taking off in a car, the pair were both caught by police a short time after.

They have both been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm and are set to face Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
