Trucks collide in central Queensland

A 33-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital after two trucks clipped one another in central Queensland.

Paramedics were called to Ogmore, north of Rockhampton, just before 4am on Friday where a semi-trailer and a smaller truck had collided on the Bruce Highway.

The 33-year-old man, one of two people in the smaller vehicle, was flown to Rockhampton Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

He suffered multiple fractures, head injuries and internal injuries, the RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service said.

A second man was treated for minor injuries at the scene, according to the Queensland Ambulance Service.

Police closed a stretch of the highway and urged drivers to use diversions via Marlborough Sarina Road as the forensic crash unit investigates.
